Bill it's been about 5
days since we purchased our Brittany pup from you and already on the
2nd day he amazed us when we went down to our hunt club to feed the
quail I keep there for training purposes. I was feeding and watering
them when one got out of the cage. This quail flew into the next
area of the fenced in pen and disappeared in the tall weeds. I
grabbed the butterfly net to catch this quail. As I was trying to
find it in the tall weeds my wife was holding our pup that we had
just purchased from you and asked if she could put the pup down to
see if he could find the quail, I said ya right like this 9 week old
puppy was going to hunt up this hidden quail. My wife put the pup
into the tall weeds and up came that quail as it got caught in the
mess covering the holding pen. My wife said see I told you he would
find that quail, and we both had a laugh. What came next took the
smirk right off our faces as I had caught the quail and was about to
put it back in its holding pen when my wife suggested I release the
quail in another area of the pen that was all gravel to see what
more this pup might do. I released the quail and the pup took after
it like a shot out of a cannon. The quail of course flew away from
the pup only to hit the netting and fall to the ground. This
Brittany pup, 9 weeks old, then went in to action. He stalked this
quail like a panther and when he got close enough to it he pounced
on it grabbed it in his mouth, shook it and I being stunned,
commanded my pup to bring it to me and he responded by making a
perfect retrieve to my hand. My wife and I just looked at each other
in amazement. I have 2 adult Brittanies at home and what this pup
did at 9 weeks took my Britts almost a year to achieve and I
have champion dogs. This pup was relentless and showed no fear as he
was attacking this quail. I have been around and raised Brittanys'
for 50 years and have never seen such intensity in such a young
puppy. Bill the bloodline speaks for itself as it has already shown
up in this puppy, I'm a firm believer that pedigrees make a huge
difference in a great dogs makeup. I know my bloodlines and this
bloodline you present through these puppies is the finest I have
ever seen. I have something special in this little pup already and I
believe he is going to be a great one and great ones only come along
once in a life times. Thanks for letting me share this story and
thanks for selling a pup this special.

I purchased my first Brittany, Caliber in May of 1995 from Bill Meyer at Timberland Ranch. I now am on my third Brittany a 4 month old named Jager while still hunting over 11 yr old Gunner. All of my dogs have been extremely versatile and close working dogs. I typically hunt pheasants in Southern Wisconsin meaning I walk hours to find birds some days. Bills Brittanys have an unbelievable desire to hunt and then track down running pheasants. To get more birds under their noses I chase woodcock and grouse. All my dogs have been patient and steady on the tight holding woodcock, even retrieving the supposed foul tasting birds back to me. After hunting over my first two dogs my father brother and uncle have purchased 4 Brittanys from Bill. These dogs are bird finding machines with great dispositions! Highly recommend them to anyone wanting a great bird dog!
